DESCRIPTION:This thematic Workshop of the Community for European Research a
 nd Innovation for Security (CERIS) aims at presenting and discussing Europ
 ean research and innovative solutions\, as well as further capability need
 s\, relevant for security in fighting illicit trafficking and criminal act
 ivities in the flow of goods and services across the external borders of t
 he European Union\, including the security of e-commerce\, financial trans
 actions\, and/or the circumvention of sanctions.\nInterested audience incl
 ude practitioners\, especially customs and law enforcement authorities\, b
 ut also innovators and policy makers on capabilities such as those related
  to detection of threats in the flow of goods and services\, and risk asse
 ssment.\n\nThe Workshop will bring together updates and EU-funded projects
  of innovative European technologies in this field\, from big data analysi
 s to advanced and safe detection technologies that minimise the disruption
  to trade flows\; present experiences and opportunities of collaborative r
 esearch and innovation in Europe\; and discuss how research results can be
