SUMMARY:Engage2innovate Symposium – Realising Security Innovation
DESCRIPTION:This two-day event in Brussels for security policymakers\, prac
 titioners and researchers is the inaugural symposium of the Horizon Europe
 -funded Engage2innovate security research project. Speakers and delegates 
 will discuss empowering impactful security R&amp\;I outputs.\nRealising Se
 curity Innovation will present and discuss the results of E2i research exa
 mining what constitutes real security innovation including:\n\n 	How can t
 he implementation and impact of European security innovation be increased?
 \n 	How might security researchers\, practitioners and policymakers be ins
 pired and enabled to deliver more effective and impactful innovation?\n 	W
 hat tools and approaches might help security R&amp\;I projects build imple
 mentation into their ‘solutions’ more effectively — transforming the
 m from ‘inventions’ into true ‘innovations’?\n\nRealising Security
  Innovation will present and discuss the results of E2i research examining
  what constitutes real security innovation. The event will open with a key
 note address from Nicolas Bessot\, Head of Innovation and Security Researc
 h Unit at the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the Eu
 ropean Commission.\n\nThe symposium will include presentations\, discussio
 ns and — on day 2 — a DesignLabworkshop. This interactive group sessio
 n will explore the potential for human-centred social innovation as an ena
 bler of security solutions\, and collaboratively investigate and develop c
 onceptual models that might describe this.\n\nRealising Security Innovatio
 n will critically explore different approaches said to foster the implemen
 tation of R&amp\;I project outputs — including end-user and citizen enga
 gement\, Social Innovation\, and Responsible Research &amp\; Innovation (R
 RI).
