On March 5 and 6, 2025, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is organizing a symposium on the European Security Research Program. The congress will take place in Brussels.
The event will offer the opportunity for actors in civil security research to exchange ideas and engage in discussion with representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and European Member States on aspects of the European security research program.
The first day will consider the importance of research and security in Europe under the new Commission and the synergies between the European and national security research programs. On the second day discussion will centre on the the funding of projects with potentially dual use – is it a risk or an opportunity for civil security research? The second focus will be on the exchange of ideas on the 10th Research Framework Program.
