ENACT joins the LEA Projects Cluster discussions on digital security challenges

The European Network Against Crime and Terrorism (ENACT) project contributed to the joint workshop on operational challenges in digital security, organised by the LEA Projects Cluster on 26 March 2026.

The event, led by Privanova in collaboration with the Center for Security Studies (KEMEA), brought together EU-funded security projects, law enforcement representatives, researchers and practitioners to discuss operational challenges affecting digital security and cybercrime investigations across Europe.

The discussions focused on several key issues impacting the European security landscape, including fragmented data environments, interoperability limitations, barriers to effective information sharing, the growing complexity of digital investigations, and the cybersecurity resilience of SMEs.

Insights from the workshop were consolidated into a set of Joint Policy Takeaways, developed with contributions from participating projects, including IAMISafeHorizon, SECUR-EU, and ENACT. The document highlights the importance of stronger interoperability, trusted data-sharing frameworks, operational uptake of research outcomes, and improved coordination between research, policy and operational communities.

Through its participation, ENACT contributed to ongoing discussions on strengthening cooperation across the European Fight against Crime and Terrorism (FCT) research ecosystem and supporting more coordinated, policy-relevant and operationally usable security research outcomes.
