ENACT presented recent work on AI and victimisation at international security events in New York

ENACT participated in two international security events held in New York in April 2026: the INVICTM Symposium (International Network Supporting Victims of Terrorism and Mass Violence) and the LinCT Alumni Association Conference, “Five Eyes, 25 Years: Enduring Partnerships Counter Evolving Threats”, both co-hosted by the New York City Police Department.

Representing ENACT, Filipe Rodrigues and Sylvie Lopes Dias (Polícia Judiciária) engaged with international practitioners, policymakers and researchers working across counter-terrorism, victim support and security innovation.

During the events, ENACT presented its latest flash report, “AI and Implications on Victims”. The report explores the growing influence of artificial intelligence on victimisation, recognition and response, while also addressing important considerations related to accountability, human oversight, rights protection and victim-centred approaches in security and public safety contexts.

The participation provided an important opportunity to share ENACT activities and research outcomes with a broader international audience, while strengthening collaboration with stakeholders working at the intersection of security, justice and victim support.

ENACT would like to thank the organisers, including Sue O’Sullivan O.O.M. (INVICTM) and Professor John Parkinson OBE (CENTRIC), for the invitation and for facilitating information exchanges on evolving security challenges and international cooperation.
