Flash Report: Country Profile – Belgium

Belgium is positioned as a strong and well-connected contributor within the European Union’s Fight against Crime and Terrorism (FCT) research landscape, with Belgian entities participating in 23 out of 41 signed FCT grants under Horizon Europe. This latest ENACT Flash Report highlights a competitive national ecosystem built on collaboration between higher education institutions, industry, law enforcement authorities, public sector bodies, and non-profit organisations.

Belgian participation is particularly strong in Cybercrime, with further engagement across Organised Crime, Human and Societal Issues, and Terrorism and Radicalisation. The report identifies notable strengths in data and intelligence management, investigation and forensics, training and exercises, internet-based investigation, and data analytics.
