ENACT Cooperation Pillar supports Drug Hunter’s laboratory-accurate roadside drug analysis platform

Following the publication of its first Cooperation Pillar report, ENACT is pleased to share a new report on Drug Hunter by SafePAS OÜ, an award-winning portable drug analyser designed to support rapid and reliable detection of illicit drugs in roadside controls, criminal investigations, correctional settings, workplaces and other security-sensitive environments.

Drug Hunter brings laboratory-accurate quantitative drug analysis closer to the point of need by identifying and measuring drugs directly from oral fluid samples within minutes. The solution supports law enforcement agencies by enabling faster, evidence-based operational decision-making, reducing unnecessary laboratory confirmation analyses, addressing emerging psychoactive substances and improving the efficiency of drug testing procedures. ENACT funding supported Drug Hunter’s communication, dissemination, validation and exploitation activities across Europe, including participation in major international security and forensic events, stakeholder demonstrations, regulatory mapping, scientific dissemination, validation studies and system deployment activities. These efforts helped increase Drug Hunter’s visibility among European law enforcement agencies, forensic experts, policymakers and security practitioners, while supporting its pathway towards wider operational deployment.
