ENACT attend annual CERIS event

Filipe Rodrigues from Polícia Judiciária represented the European Network Against Crime and Terrorism (ENACT) at the CERIS Annual Event, titled “Research for Fighting Crime and Terrorism.” The event, organized by the European Commission’s DG HOME, took place on the 25th September in Brussels,  with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation in the fight against crime and terrorism.

The CERIS Annual Event featured a series of engaging panel discussions throughout the day, showcasing important contributions from the European research community. These discussions emphasized how ENACT is actively supporting the Fighting Crime and Terrorism (FCT) community by:

  • Bringing the research FCT community together: ENACT fosters collaboration among researchers, law enforcement, and policymakers to promote innovative solutions.
  • Creating and sharing resources: ENACT is committed to developing comprehensive resources accessible to the entire FCT community, aiding in research and development.
  • Enhancing visibility of EU research results: A key goal for ENACT is to improve the dissemination and impact of European research in combating crime and terrorism, ensuring that findings are accessible to those who need them most.

The event emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the research community and law enforcement agencies in tackling today’s security challenges. ENACT remains committed to supporting efforts that advance crime prevention and counter-terrorism through research, innovation, and knowledge-sharing.
