The Terrorism and Social Media (TASM) Conference is a three-day, in-person event hosted by Swansea University that brings together more than 250 international experts to examine the use of online platforms by extremist actors. The 2026 edition will feature keynote presentations and over 30 breakout sessions addressing emerging technologies, AI-enabled responses, and regulatory approaches to online extremism.
The programme explores developments in digital culture, ideology, and platform governance, and will conclude with a collaborative “sandpit” session where participants can propose and develop ideas for future research projects. The event provides opportunities for engagement between stakeholders from academia, government, and the technology sector, alongside dedicated networking sessions and workshops.
