New Flash Report on Digital Tools for Online Crime Monitoring

ENACT’s 8th Flash Report focusing on Digital Tools for Online Crime Monitoring is now available.

This report was requested by the AHEAD project. AHEAD is an EU-funded project that aims to design and operationalise a sustainable capability-based civil security foresight framework which generates evidenced-based capability roadmaps.

The aim of this report was to provide an overview of the current state of tools and approaches for different forms of online crime monitoring and investigation. The report considers the use of web crawling, adaptive monitoring and autonomous agents. While the potential role of digital twins and honeypots are also introduced. The report also presents the policy, legal and ethical view, shares key developments in EU-funded projects under this area, whilst utilising the analysis of the relevant observations from the ENACT structured knowledge base.
