As part of the Cooperation Pillar, ENACT supports innovative solutions that work to strengthen security and public safety. Our latest overview shares an update on REVION Rehabilitation, developed by Autism Foundation Finland. REVION is a rehabilitation programme designed specifically for neurodivergent people with a criminal background or an elevated risk of offending. Combining Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), the programme supports participants in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, impulse control and the skills needed to build meaningful lives and successfully reintegrate into society. REVION has been delivered both remotely and in person across Finland and has received national and European recognition, including 1st Place in the Finnish Crime Prevention Award 2024 and 2nd Place in the European Crime Prevention Award 2024.
Through ENACT funding, Autism Foundation Finland participated in the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS) World Conference 2026, where a poster presenting the REVION Rehabilitation programme was showcased. The support has also enabled the translation of the REVION client workbook into English, helping make the programme more accessible internationally. These activities are expected to increase awareness of REVION, support wider dissemination of its approach and encourage international collaboration around rehabilitation for neurodivergent people involved in criminal or high-risk behaviour.
